I have finally been able to access all drives on the kids computer from the
main computer. However, on the c: drive, I am denied access to the Program
files folder and the Windows folder. Apparently I have not set myself up as
an administrator properly. I WAS able to go into (on the kids computer) the
folders underneath Program Files and uncheck read-only and share them, then
run the programs from the main computer. But when I try to do that with the
Program Files or Windows folder and therefore every sub folder, it won't
allow sharing and the read-only box reverts back to checked. Any ideas?

I want to manage the kids computer from my own computer as much as possible.

Under the Simple File Sharing method (which is the only one available
with XP Home edition) the Windows and Program Files folders are not
shared even if the rest of the drive is.

Boot the computer into Safe Mode. Open Windows Explorer, right-click
on the Windows folder and select Properties. Go to the Sharing tab
and you should be able to configure it to be shared. Do the same
with the Program Files folder.

Good luck
