XP Home mapped drive problem

I am using Win XP Home and when I map a drive, I do not
see the "remember password" box and the password is not
saved when I reboot (the drive I want to map is on a Win
98 PC and this is a workgroup, not a domain). I always
have to type in the password again when I try to reconnect
after rebooting. It saves the password until I reboot. Is
it impossible to save passwords on Win XP home?

Thanks for your help

Hi rja,
Win XP Home Edition does not have the ability to cache passwords for
network shares, hence the "remember password" box is not there. If you want
to save yourself having to type it every time you should consider making a
batch file that maps the drives and supplies the credentials for the shares
you want to map.
