Hi, I have just clean reinstalled XP home

You have given us precious little to go on Charles. Please don't be
surprised if the information you receive here falls short of your
expectations.

Why did you do a clean install of XP Home? Give us the details as best
as you can. Did something happen?

and and seem to have lost all

If your system required specialized drivers, not present on your
system's CD, they may have come /with/ your computer on a separate hard
disk drive partition, or they may have come on a CD that came with your
system. Current revision drivers can be obtained from the web sites of
the system, device, and motherboard manufacturers.

and cant access the internet.

Please see the above.

Is there a way round this?

You really don't want to get around this. You really want to deal with
this issue now for a correctly running system.

If you would like to reveal /much much/ more than you posted, more help
is probably forthcoming. Computer manufacturer, model, peripherals, how
is the Internet accessed by your system, all would begin to scratch the
surface.

In short Charles, tell us all you know. Don't be timid. :-)

Best wishes to you.

Pete

Hi Pete,

My laptop was riddled with spyware and adware to the point of I just needed
a complete fresh start! I believe i do need specialised drivers but was
hoping to download them. i have access to the net thru a second PC but not
sure what to search for or where to start.

I cant seem to access the internet using wireless or wired. (we have sky
Bband)
I was hoping to start here so as to make it easier to dowload/update other
drivers

the laptop is an acer aspire 9300series
model no MS2195
graphics nvidia geforce go 6100
AMD Turion64 *2
technology = TL-50
1.61Ghz, 768Mb of ram

I clean installed windows XP home over Windows XP media centre edition 2005.
I also deleted the old partitions. The laptop does boot to the desktop but
when i go to device manager there is a yellow ?! symbol next to below:
Coprocessor
Mass Storage controller
network controller
other pci bridge device
pci device
sm bas contriller
usb2.0 camera
video controller (vga compatible)

Also i need to register the new XP and update with XP service packs

So is this the info you needed or am i off track? Is it a case for trying to
dowload drivers on another PC and installing from USB and if so can you help
advise what/where i need to download first.

thanks for your help

Regards
Charles
