XP home floppy drive settings

When using my A: drive it will not refresh the disk info. when a new disk
is put into the drive. How do I fix this?

Thanks for the help, but it did not work. the drive still shows the last disk
info. that was in the drive unless I reboot the sys.

You have to reboot the computer for the A: drive display to clear? Use
Task Manager and kill Explorer.exe then restart it again using the New
Task option in the File menu.

I have some old disks that I found that have old files I need to copy to cd.

Task Manager and kill Explorer.exe then restart it again using the New
Task option in the File menu.

Not an answer to your question, but is there some reason you are still
using floppy disks?

I can think of at least four reasons why people might still be using
floppy disks, at least occasionally:

1. To permit loading SATA drivers

2. To use ASR with NTBackup

3. To install/reinstall older software that was distributed on floppy
disks.

4. To permit exchanging files with people who have older computers
which use no other type of removable media.
