I am having difficulty getting direct information how to
networking my XP to my Emac (Macintosh computer).

Step by step, does anyone know how to set this up?

I am sure someone will be able to help, especially if you tell us how
you are networking the machines - network cable or wireless might be a
good starting point...

I am using a network cable (ethernet). Do I need a hub?

My goal is to allow the comuoters to share files/folders
and my hp printer.

Hi

Leaving aside the issue of the printer, if the computers are connected
with an ethernet cable, give them both an IP address in the same
range.

For example, give the PC an IP address of 192.168.0.2 and the eMac an
address of 192.168.0.3.

Use the subnet mask 255.255.255.0 for both.

Reboot, and let us know if the PC can see a Samba server in Network
neighbourhood..
