The word processor that comes with the home edition MS
works does not have autosave. Is a working copy of the
current document saved somewhere? If the word processor
chokes, the app does not restore not yet saved
documents. Is it lost permanently?
Any tips would be greatly appreciated...

Greetings

Windows doesny include a full featured word processor. If you use Microsoft
Works Word Processor then please post your question/comment in the Works
Newsgroups.

Hi Cliff,

Although, it may have been installed on your computer when you got it, MS
Works is not part of the Windows XP operating system. Microsoft Word can
automatically save documents, but I do not believe that this can be done in
the MS Works Word Processor. Anything that is typed, but not saved will be
lost permanently if the word processor closes. The best thing you can do is
to save the document when you begin typing and periodically click on the
save button (has a picture of a floppy disk) on the toolbar.

No version of XP comes with MS Works. Your dealer may have packaged it with
the computer. Did you mean Word Pad?

Hi Cliff
Click Start/All Programs/Microsoft Works/Open Microsoft Works Task
Launcher/Click on History at the top of the page and your unfinished
document should be there.
Another place is "My Recent Documents" on your start menu.
