I have a small home network with one XP Home client and one XP Pro client. The 2 computers are set up for peer2peer connectivity and the printer is shared throught the Home client. The Pro client can access all resources on the Home client however when I try to access the Pro client from the Home client I get a password request. Neither computer is set up with a password. Any ideas?

Run the Network Setup Wizard on XP Pro to fully enable file sharing.

If you've explicitly defined a password for the Guest account on XP
Pro, enter that password at the request.

If you've explicitly disabled "simple file sharing" on XP Pro, see
this site:

make sure that there is a user account for each user on
each system, ideally with the same password.

I had the same problem. Turned out my simple file sharing was disabled.
Without this sfs I understand there's a lot of work to be done in Pro to set
permissions, etc.

I just went through the same problem and I finally got my XP home to talk to my XP pro, first I set the computer connected directly to the internet (XP home) as a host in the network set up wizard, then I enabled simple file sharing in the XP pro machine in the tools/folder options/view (In explorer) and wallaa.
I also ran the network wizard last out of control panel in internet connection and made sure that we all had the same work group
