xp home and xp professional home networking

I have set up my home pc with xp home version and my
coporate laptop with xp professional correctly yet they
don't see each other. Internet Firewall is not causing
it. Can anyone help?
 
More than likely this is due to your laptop and your home machine having
different workgroup/domain settings.

If you try to open network neighborhood you will not see the other PC in
most instances.

Try pinging the other computer from the DOS prompt. It should resolve by
name or IP. Let us know if this works
