Any issues with XP home and Core2Quad processors? Do they play well
together in the same sandbox?

They play just fine. No "issues".

XP home will not use all cores, to fully utilize the cpu, you'd need
XP pro

That is simply not true.

And that link doesn't agree with what you just said either.

Then you DID NOT read it!

Go back a READ!!!!

Here's the quote, right?

| Both Windows XP Pro and Home will support both dual
| core and quad cores processors as long as they are
| on the same processors. There are no additional
| licensing fees per core. But when you have a system
| using two processors, only Windows XP Pro supports
| this function.

Core2Quad = 1 Processor + 4 Cores

It's startling how often exclamation point emphasis is inversely
proportional to righteousness.

Well from the dumb replies I made...I may need something a bit stronger than
a vacation.
One guy just emailed me about needing help flashing a bios...
I told him not to...
then just now I took a phone call...and like a fool, I offered to help him
the day after I get back.

Anyway I will have one full week away from computers...
the GF and I are NOT the type to bring laptops with us...
besides my laptop looks like a bad science project...
it requires an external battery...
and the wireless antenna was salvaged from an old router...

If I tried to get on the plane with this I'd be locked up for 100 years

I just had to look (not sure why)

is that the computer equivalent of "never buy a car from a mechanic?" :)

nate

(amateur mechanic, and yes, I do have a reputation for driving
interesting vehicles. In several senses of the word...)
