I've seen many variations of this question in this group but I'm not sure anybody has addressed my specific problem

I've two machines networked using XP Home. We share printers, files and ADSL OK

When I bring my Win 2000 laptop home from the office I want to share home network resources but without altering my laptop settings. I can alter any settings on my home network but if I change anything on my laptop I can either not dial in for email or recoonect to the office LAN next time I'm in

I can usaully see the respective machines in the 'my network places'; but any attempt to connect results in a rather abrupt message about not having permission

any help would be much appreciated

Is the laptop a member of a Windows Domain? If so, you won't be able
to access it when off the domain... However you should be able to
connect to your home resources from the laptop...
