xp hive

how do you re-install the hive for win xp oem. microsoft
article 307545 says not to use with oem versions. this is
on a new toshiba laptop. toshiba says ask microsoft. all
suggestions welcome. thanks

And yet another reason OEM cost less than retail.

You could try it but as you read it may cause problems.
The worst case is a reload which may be necessary in any case
