Just did a "Scan For Errors" on a (slave) hard drive on a Win XP system. This (I assume) is essentially the same as a Thorough Scandisk" on the previous versions. Upon completion, the system reported that the check was complete (no other information) although the drive seemed to act "sick". The drive ended up dead before it was all over
I'm used to having the ability to request a "report" (bytes in bad sectors, etc) as was possible with 95/98/ME. Is there any way to force a report after an error check in XP?

run the error check in dos mode by typing 'chkdsk /f' or chkdsk /r in a dos
prompt or run box.

you can see the report as it finishes. usually though, if the chkdsk
corrects errors they will appear in event viewer.
