XP has finished installed new hardware - but which?

Sometimes I see a message when XP boots up which says:
"Windows has finished installing new hardware".

How can I tell which hardware device it is referring to?

Check in the Control Panel > Adminstrative Tools > Event Viewer for if
you can find additional informations here.

also find and review the file setupapi.log.
..

From memory there does not seem to be any useful entries in any of
the Event Viewer's logs. :-(

Post the contents of those messages here as far as you think that they
are related to the problem. Or feed an Internet search engine with the
info.
