After installation of the integrated webcam driver (on acer as5710 laptop),
which was successful (not yellow marks, device and software working) windows
does not shutdown or restart (stuck on closing windows... screen).
Not even when I have disabled ALL not microsoft services and startup entries
in msconfig.

Instead it does shutdown from safe mode.

When the imaging device is deactivated from the profile, xp does shutdown
regularly!

I have removed ghost devices, but nothing.
I am confused, webcam drivers are also signed ones.

Found no advice, as I don't have hints about what to troubleshoot at. No
yellow question marks at all.
Is it an hardware or software issue?
Thanx for helping out, Ricardo

In Device Manager, camera device properties (or if usb, in root hub device),
Power Management tab, put a check in 'allow ...'

It is listed under imaging devices, has no power manag. tab, and all USB
hubs (5) already have the box checked out (allow...).
Acer AS5710 (webcam suyin optronics)

go to device manager try to locate on which USB hub the camera is connected.
Click on every hub and check powe tab if you see your web cam, uncheck "allow
the computer to turn off this device to save power" under power managment
tab. It worked for me on same web cam on Tmate5320.
