Bruce Terry

I have swapped nameservers on a website, the domain
will go back and forth from the new nameserver NS1.HOST-
MANAGER.COM to its old nameserver - NS1.APPCOMM.NET -

I am still having a problem with
www.smithfieldschicken.com - When it is properly working,
it points to mail.host-manager.com - when it is not it
points back to secure.appcomm.com - it comes - and it
goes - When I do a local trace it will go to the old
nameserver appcomm - but a trace from
http://www.dnsstuff.com/ shows it correctly -

When I do a trace to smithfieldschicken.com, though it
always shows it correctly.

Also, there are two Win 98 computers on my local network
that do not have a problem.

My problem is that others are using Win 2000 - and they
are having the same problem -

This is making me crazy(ier)
Thank you,
Bruce Terry

since win98 doesn't have this issue, I am assuming you have mlhosts to point
to the old name.

No Win 98 does not have this problem - and XP does not
always do it - and 2000 seems to have the same
affliction -

What are "mlhosts" you refer to - I have changed the
nameservers - but if I do a tracert from my XP box to the
website www.smithfieldschicken.com it goes to the old
server - if I do a trace to smithfieldschicken.com it
goes to the new (proper) server:

I still have not had any replies on this thing - just the fact that is
intermittent - makes me crazy.

Thank you,
