Hi,
I have just built a new machine and intalled XP with SP1.
THe machine consists of and Asus a7n8x deluxe motherboard,
and asus FX5600 based graphics card. and Althlon XP2500
and 512MB of PC3200 memory, and a samsung 160GB HD.

On my first attempt to load XP I left it installing and
came back to a blue screen saying that there had been an
error and the machine should be rebooted. I did this and
managed to finish the installation.
THe machine boots into XP and I have installed an intel
based modem and I can connect to the internet.

However the machine keeps crashing, sometimes rebooting,
sometimes I get an error saying something has gone wrong
and an application should be shut down. other times if
freezes with the blue screen untill I hit the reboot.

I have installed the latest Mother board drivers from ASUS.

Any sugestions would be appreciated

Check out the setuperr.log file in the %systemroot% folder. This file
should list any errors XP encountered during setup. Hopefully this will
lead you to the problem.
