Sean I have been having the same problem. While running
in safe mode, run your Computer Management program (you
can find that in your control panel under adminstrative
tools)under system tools there is an event viewer select
system and you will se a list of information and errors
your problem will be listed there if ther are too many
clear all events and reboot your computer normally when it
hangs up it will create an event by checking the
properties (right clicking on the event)of that event it
will either give you an option to fix it or that you can
track down the source. Mine happens to be the drivers for
my ACPI bios are out of date soe how after using Xp for 6
months now I think I lost them to a virusbut I hope this
helps you out. If you have the same problem as I and you
find a solution please drop me a line
