I've had some problems with xp on my new laptop, as it
detects 'new hardware'on start-up, even though there's
nothing new connected. This new device is apparently a
printer (I think I'd know if I had one) and xp asks for a
driver.

Of course there is no driver, as there is no printer.

The question is, is it possible to tell XP to stop
bothering me with this on every start-up? (Yes, I have
ticked the box with the option of not being asked again,
but XP is ignoring this bit...)

Thanks!

Oliver

There can be 'virtual' printers.... such as the Adobe PDF Writer and the
Microsoft Office Document Image Writer (part of Office 2003).

Do you have Adobe Acrobat (full version) installed?
