Hello,

my laptop is not accessible on the network. The error
message reads:

"\\name is not accessible. You might not have permission
to use this network resource. Contect he administrator of
this server to find out if you have access permissions"

This problem is persistent with all computers I ever
connected to this laptop (it's a Toshiba Sattelite 1400-
103 i use professionally for a year). The system is Win
XP Home Edition

Internet works fine.
From the laptop i can see other computers. Always.
From the laptop i can browse other computers shared
folders. Always.
I can ping the laptop from other computers.
I can play network games.
I have disabled the Firewall.
I have set all network settins like on the other
computers.
The TCP/IP Address is assigned by DHCP.
NetBios uses the DHCP servers settings.
All computers are in the same workgoup.
I am administrator on all computers
I use the same login name an password.
I tried using different passwords and logins.
Guest Account is enabled.

Only I cannot acces this computer from other computers...
Can anybody help me, this is driving me mad!

thanks, chris

I have the same problem running Windows XP Professional
on a Compaq Evo N1020v Laptop.
Talking with Microsoft Support in an Expo Stand, they
gave me info I already knew, such as install the File and
Printers Service, disable Firewall protection on that
Connection... All I just already did. The problem was Not
solved.
