XP file sharing (anomaly)?

When sharing a folder on my XP machine over our home LAN,
only some of the video files in a subfolder can be
accessed from another XP machine, but other files in the
same folder can't.

I've even enabled simple file sharing to see the results,
but it still doesn't solve said problem. I'm befuddled
and need help. Thanks.

check the access rights of those files (security).
