I sent a fax via MSFAX in XP Home, the status is shown as Fatal Error and
the fax remains in the Outbox. However, I have confirmed that the entire
fax was received properly. Is there anyway I can change the status of this
fax to Sent so that it gets archived properly? Thanks very much.

The answer to this particular question is no. Can you please check the event
logs and see if there's anything related to Fax under "Application"? If yes,
that could shed some more error as to why it was construed as an error?
Thank you,
Manoj

Well, that's frustrating to know that I can't do anything about the status
of this fax; I know it's been sent properly and I just want to move it from
the outbox to the sent items. Ok, well here's the information from the
Application Event Log:

An error was encountered while sending a fax. The service will attempt to
resend the fax. If further transmissions fail, please verify that the phone
line, fax sending device, and fax receiving device are working properly.

And the Event ID associated with this is 32028. If I had to guess as to the
problem, I would say that the receiving end hung up before the sending end
(me) received the acknowledgment that the entire fax was transmitted
properly. Any other assistance you can give me is greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Sue
