XP fax software

This is my first time posting on a newsgroup, so dont' know if I'm doing it
correctly?

Anyway, just bought a new computer. HP with XP home. Tried to send a fax,
did not do anything. Set everything up through the fax wizard. Even made
the fax a default. One time it had a list of faxes in the outbox of the fax
console? One time it started to dial up to send and I canceled because I
was't sure everything was right. I have never been able to send anything
again? I went to windows update and downloaded anything to do with XP and
XP fax? Also the console freezes alot [does not respond]. I have restarted
the computer several times.

Is there known issues with XP fax that I need to know?

Ok, I fixed my own problem, yeppie. I had to uninstall the windows fax
program and reinstall it. Glad XP let's you reinstall it since my PC didn't
come with the OS disk. I reckon since part of my HD is partitioned with the
recovery OS that is why? I am now a gu-ru............................ha
 
Sounds like you are having the same problem that I am
having. Faxes get sent, but you get no indication at all
that they are going out correctly. In other words, you
don't see the Fax Monitor.

Did you go to fax console then tools and click on fax configure [which is
fax properties] then click on tracking tab, at the bottom there is a box you
can check to show Fax Monitor when sending or recieving fax. Might try that
if you didn't.

My problem was nothing was happening, no dialing, notta! Now everything
works fine after hours of trying everything but uninstalling the dang thang!
