Whenever I send a fax thru XP, it also prints my standard fax machine. They
share the same phone line. How can I stop this??

Unplug the telephone line from the standard fax machine whenever you send a
fax through XP or get it a separate phone line so they don't share.

Can't I use the same line? I have a small (non existent) budget and can not
justify a separate line for out-going faxes. The XP faxing will only be
sending out a faxes.

You might be able to get around this problem by plugging the phone line to
the Fax machine into the "Phone" jack on the Fax modem; the logic, here, is
this jack is usually shut off by the modem whenever its doing anything on
it's other jack, the "line" jack. In any case, having the dedicated Fax
machine "listening" on the same phone line as your computer fax modem uses
to send WILL result in the dedicated fax machine printing the fax; it will
hear the negotiation tones the fax modem is sending and respond accordingly.
