XP Embedded Fonts

Does anyone know how to get the symbol fonts to display
in a VB6 application running on XPE? I have the
components for 'Fonts: Font mapper', Fonts: Font
directory setup', 'Fonts: Font Symbol', 'Fonts:
symbol_vga_res', and 'Fonts:Symbolf' included in the
build. The symbols display correctly on XP Pro, but on
XPE they display as either '?' or an empty box.
