XP Embedded End of Life Question

One of my suppliers is hinting that the XP EOL is in 6 months. When I
check the MS site :

http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/search/?sort=PN&alpha=Windows+XP&x=4&y=4

It suggests a mainstream life of 3/31/07 with extended support until
2012.
Which is closer to the truth? Is there a new embedded platform being
released in the short term?
