After reinstall of XP Pro service pack 2, I can no longer access my non
system hard drives. These are Western Digital drives, One is a WD800BB-00CAA1
Connected to IDE 2 on the mother board. The other is a WD 16 00JB-00FUA0
connected through the Ultra100 TX2 card. Device Manager lists the drive, Disk
Management lists the drives (With no drive number, just the name of the
drive) and shows them as acitve and healthy. I've tried to assign drive
letters to these drives through Disk Management but when I right click on the
drive the only command I can access is the Delete Partition command, the
others are greyed out. I have installed the latest drivers. I did not
disconnect the drives before I reinstalled XP. I have tried disconnecting
the drives and restarting xp. Then I have shut down the computer,
reconnected the drives and restarted xp with no success. I have also tried
"Rescan Disks" command in both Diak Managment and Device Manager. I have
also unstalled the disks in Device Manager and then reinstalled them -- no
success.
