XP default user login/welcome screen

Hi XP Gurus,
I am running XP SP1. When I logged on my computer before, I got this welcome
screen with my name and a password input field with cursor focused already
there for me. There was no any other info (ie, unread messages or programs
running stuff).

But now, when this welcome screen shows up, not only do I need to click on
my name for the password box to show, there is this unread message and/or
program running stuff.

How do I get it back to how it was before?

Thanks.

Hello,

Does it say programs are running when you first boot up? Your computer can
go back to the log in screen for any number of reasons. And when that
happens it doesn't highlight the password box.

Hello, Michael

There is no 'info' on how many running programs when I log on the first time.

All I want is for XP to focus on the password input box and NO to show ANY
of the 'unread messages or running programs' info either whe I first long on
or log back on from stand-by mode.

I think there is a link between my windows xp log on and .NET passport
stuff. Only if I knew how to get rid of it and go back to how my be-loved
computer worked before.

Thanks.
