Is it possible to alter the layout of the month in *Date and Time* so
that Sunday is the first day of the week, instead o f Monday where XP
puts the first day of the week ?

Patrick, what program are you referring to? Outlook (not a part of Windows
XP but a separate Microsoft program)? If yes, I believe you can set that up
in the Options menus in the Calendar section.

sunday is first day on my xp.

Sunday is the first day of the week in my works calendar too that is
OK.

But when I click on the Date- TIme Icon the month shows Monday as
first.

How can I change that to Sunday

The program is the Date -Time of the operating system

It can be fired up from the Control Panel or by right clicking on the
Time at the extreme bottom right of the screen

It can be fired up from the Control Panel or by right clicking on the
Time at the extreme bottom right of the screenand then selecting
Adjust Date/Time

Ah, ok. I've never seen Windows-any-version do that before so just assumed
we were talking about a calendar in a program... Outlook and other programs
a business might use tend to start with Mondays.

Anyhow, I poked around a bit in Regional and Language settings. Using
"English - United States" - my calendar shows Sunday through Saturday. If I
change to "English - New Zealand" the calendar changes to show Monday
through Sunday. Trying the Customize screens, there is no place to change
the starting day of the week. Sorry to say, the calendar format appears to
be hard coded into the regional settings.

Building on your research I tried out all the regional settings for
each English variant

There were thirteen of these and 5 produced a Monday first day
Calendar,

These were Australia, Caribbean, Ireland, Jamaica and New Zealand.

There is no obvious pattern to these

"English - UK" gave me a Monday-Sunday calendar as well.

Your right I missed that off the list.

So we have Australia, Caribbean, Ireland, Jamaica, UK, and New
Zealand.
