P4 3.00GHz on Win XP Pro (32 bit), Service Pack 3, taking 2 hours or more to
boot.

Running:
Office 2003 & 2007
Photoshop Elements 5
AVG Ver 8
Access Terminal (NComputing model L230)
1 Gig RAM with 128Meg Graphics Card
Hard Drive 250 gigs - used less than 100 gigs
Hosts 2 printers
Networked 2 to Vista PCs Peer to Peer

Have done Windows Error-Checking with options Automatically Fix file system
errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. Defragged, Disk
Cleanup. Removed as much data as possible.

Once booted it performs as normal.

Any suggestion please. I would prefer not to do the whole reinstall just
because time is a problem at the moment. Need to try and find a solution for
the meanwhile. Will be most grateful for any suggestions.

Try disconnecting everything and then restart.

It seems the NComputing Terminal Software was corrupted and causing the
problem. Uninstalled, downloaded new version and installed and all seems well
at present. Thanks so much for your input.

Try disconnecting everything and then restart.

Access MSCONFIG and stop all "Startup" programs. Reboot and then
start enabling one by one, until your long boot time reoccurs.

Google Groups is not a good place to use these groups from. The OP -
who is NOT "Nate Grossman", it's "Margy" - has long-since found the
problem and fixed it.
