Hi,
As a computer support shop - we often encounter XP systems, that are for
some reason or another, being used off a previously configured domain (i.e.,
pc is given to son or daughter for college or taken home for personal use).
Once disjoined from the domain and local accounts are created, settings
migrated, etc. - we are left with a few issues. In many cases, some flavor
of Group Policy (guessing here) prevents things like updates, viewing
security log in event viewer, and so on. Using gpedit.msc to check the admin
templates, nothing seems to be configured to do this. The question: Is
there some way to sever all things domain once that config is no longer
needed? If not, where will I find the settings to permit full functionality
for updates, etc.? TIA.
