Hi. I backed up my data to a dvd-rw using Windows Vista
Home Premium. I have since reinstalled XP but after installation
XP don't display any folders on the DVD.
Anyway to get to my data files, it's the only backup I have.

Windows XP doesn't normally come with drivers to read DVDs-RWs, although
computer manufacturer recovery partitions/CDs might.

Note that DVD-Rs are different than DVD-RWs that are formated to use
interactively (like you would use a hard drive - but SLOWER).
Furthermore, the companies that publish software for those "packet
writing" DVR-RW formats have their own data and indexing systems that
are OFTEN incompatible with software from other manufacturers.

Check the optical media that came with your computer OR DVD writer for
software like "Nero", "Easy CD / DVD Creator" or other software and
drivers to use the DVD writer.

Thanks much for the info.
