I have a Gateway system with a 15 GB Western Digital drive running WIN
98. I added a small (4GB WD) secondary drive which I formatted as Fat32
and installed Windows XP Pro on it.

When I make the original drive (the 15 GB Win 98) the master and the new
XP drive as the slave, I can see both drives and transfer information
back and forth. BUT when I make the new WIN XP drive the master and the
old WIN 98 drive the slave, I cannot see the secondary drive in Windows
Explorer. It does appear in the CMOS and in the Control Panel and such
programs as Partition Magic and FDISK. It just seems to be an XP
problem. Since I have not upgraded to SP1, could this be the cause? Any
suggestions?

Thanks,
Ken Gash

Xp will steal drive space from other Os so install each
in they're own partition.
.Run Fdisk . Install 98 first & Set drive space under 2GB
as Master and make it the Active Partition.

Then install XP as Master on 2nd Partions and make drive
size space with have availfor 98 Xp on larger partion
and set take over.
