Hi,
I reinstalled XP professional after formatting drive.
When I installed SP1, computer boots very slowly; takes 5-
6 minutes. Once it boots it works fine.

I would appreciate if somebody can suggest the fix.

thanks
Jaggu

Hi Ramesh,

I looked the patches installed on my computer. I don't
have kbid=819634 installed. Also, the computer was
booting slowly immediately after loading "Windows Service
Pack 1a". As I mentioned earlier,
1. I reformatted the drive after having corrupted OS
2. Installed XP professional version 2002. It was
booting normally/fast after loading OS.
3. Installed "Windows Service Pack 1a", the booting
takes 5-6 minutes after installing this.

Let me know if you know the possible cause & fix. Thanks

Jaggu

What happens if you disconnect things like printers or scanners... does it
boot up faster?
