XP BOOT UP

Every time I yurn the laptop on it makes me choose an
operating system to start and it list XP Pro twice. If I
pick the top option it comes up as administrator.If I
pick the bottom on it comes up as my normal settings. Is
there a way to get this to quit?
 
Click Start, Run and enter C:\BOOT.INI

Remove the erroneous reference. If you're not sure of what you're removing, post the contents of your BOOT.INI here.
 
I have just read your tribute to Koldbear. I would like to add to that. I
used to sit on windowsME groups and learned a lot from him. Most of what I
learned was passed on to other people needing help so his knowledge spread
to people who never even had contact with him. He was an asset who will be
greatly missed. I enjoyed some of the battles he engaged on over the years
with other experts and much was learned from these also.

He was one of a kind and I mean that in a good way. Will miss him too.
