suggestions ?!?!?
theres got to be a way around this. i know the program is
in there somewhere, oh by the way this is a gateway
computer and is about 2 years old

It sounds like it is trying to boot from you CD. When the computer first
boots up do you have the option to go into the system setup? It is usually
started by hitting the DEL key during boot up. Once there you might try
setting your boot sequence to your hard drive first. If that is already
set, the next question is whether or not your hard drive is working. During
boot up this should be reported to the screen. If you have a Gateway boot
up screen just hit ESC and it should turn to a text screen that will display
what the computer is doing during boot up. Make sure it is detecting your
hard drive. If not you might want to contact Gateway.

Let me know if any of this helps.
