I have a 40G hard drive split into 2 partitions, C: and D:. C:
originally held Win 98 and when I bought XP Pro I split the partition to
create D: and clean installed XP on D:. Eventually just deleted Win 98
from C: and use that for storage. Today when I booted my system I was
having problems accessing some of the stuff on C:. When I opened My
Computer I saw that C: is now G: Computer Management won't let me change
the drive letter of the boot drive. How can I change this back to c:?

search the windows help file for 'drive letter' and it will tell you how to do it

Thanks for the suggestion. I've already tried to change it using
Computer Management but got an error that system or boot volume letters
cannot be changed. My G:, which used to be c:, is the system and/or boot
drive. I tried diskpart from the command line and got the same error.

Just for grins I searched thru the registry for "G:\" and found 1 entry
in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Setup\BootDir set to
G:\ Several of the other keys there still show c:\... paths. Would
changing this one key back to c:\ fix the problem or hose things up
completely?
