Help!

I have Window XP Pro installed

On starting comp BSOD came up and mentioning Physical Memory Dumping .
so I closed the computer.

On resatrt ,on LKG, it says following file is corrupt
C;\windows\system32\config\system

What to do .I am small man to comp.

1) How to start computer with same system as I have lots of file to
save .Reply In detail?

2) Do I have to reinstalled Win XP
If yes then how to save files?

3) How Can I do partition now?

4)
Now

http://groups-beta.google.com/group...24b7f?q=windows+2000&rnum=36#6cff8d7db4e24b7f

(If the system hive is corrupt, and assuming you already tried LKG, It
may be
possible to rename the system hive found in
%windir%\system32\config\system
to system.old
then rename
%windir%\system32\config\system.alt
to
%windir%\system32\config\system )

It was for Win 2000 System.Alt file is there but in XP there is no
System.alt file to rename.what to do ?

Install the drive in another XP or Win2k computer as a slave drive and
copy off the important data.

Then see this article for how to recover from a corrupted registry:

Starting"

After the system is repaired take a look at this:

Your post isn't clear. If you restored from an image then the programs
should be intact, but that depends on what you imaged. You need to be
more specific.

Hi Rock,
Thanks for the reply.
After BSOD,I have transfer the C: drive thru ACRONIS program to
another computer in F: drive which is mirror image files.
Then I have Reinstalled XP and transfer F: drive mirror image thru
ACRONIS software
back to my computer.

Now in my computer how to revive programs withoput CD's.
I have loaded few program. but I do not have few program CD's .
So now what is the solution.

Thanks
Hare

If you effectively wiped the registry of any program information and you
don't have the install CD's, you will not be able to use them until you
get an install CD.

Hi Bob ,

Thanks

Hare
