I have three computers sharing a dsl connection. Everything
was ok until Windows XP Professional was installed in one
of the computers (the other run Win 98). The internet
connection for the other two computers gets really slow
whenever the computer with XP is on or connected to the
internet. Browsing is really slow and gaming online is a
pain. Nothing like this happened back when all three of
them had Win 98. Why's that?

Possible virus that only attacks vulnerable NT/2k/XP machines. Have you
checked for that possibility?

Uninstall QOS on the XP machine.... or at least take the tick off it.

Turn off XP's PnP stuff for the router; under XP, PnP causes
a lot of net traffic (at least sometimes).
