System: Windows XP/sp2-with ALL of the current patches
Question: I am having a problem with a piece of Sony software. Their
support people gave me a list of things to delete and registry changes to be
made. Among their suggestions was to back up the registry before I deleted
anything. They furnished a link to MS if I did not know what I was doing
(very astute move on their part!). Below is the link. In the section about
"manual steps to back.......", there is an article #308422 that furnishes
additional info, including a .wmv player that explains/shows you how to use
backup. My system (actually, 2 different systems XP/sp2/current patches)
does not have this backup option. Is this an add-on? Please help as I really
need to get my troublesome software working and I want to play by Sony's
rules so I don't mess up my system.
