Xp Back UP: After Restore, it just hangs on Blue Xp Boot up screen

I did a
Back up and a Restore of my C drive to a Slave Hard drive using Xp Back Up
Home Edition [The Value Add one].. When I hooked up the Salve drive alone, as
Master, it just sticks on the Blue Xp boot screen. I try to go into Safe Mode
and this does not help. I have tried doing a Scan Disk and Defrag before
doing both the back up and recovery. Any ideas on why this is happening and
how I can correct this?
I am using Xp Home on a Pent 4 2.66 I have 512 Ram, and using two 120 GB
Hard drives.

The backup to the 2nd drive did just that, it backed-up the data. But, it
did not "image" the drive, which would make the drive bootable(requires a
third party program). So, your scenario will not work as you intend it, but
it will work as IT intends it.
That is, keeping the first drive as master and the second as slave, you run
the RESTORE option from the first drive and direct it to find the files on
the slave drive.
