When I log on to an XP user account the internet
connection box appears and dials my ISP. This problem
began after some software was installed on my hard drive
without my knowledge whilst online despite being
firewalled and running the latest updates and virus
software. I uninstalled the uninvited software and ran a
virus scan, nothing was found.

Can anyone help?

Thank you for your time

Hi Paul,

I would advise you to also run e.g. AdAware. It's free software that removes
adware and spybots... You can download it from www.lavasoftusa.com. After
you install it, don't forget to update it (just like antivirus)... You might
also want to run Spy Bot - Search & Destroy program as addition to AdAware.
It's also freeware and you also need to update it once you install it.

.
internet options... Go to connections and check settings
to see if "Always dial my default connection" is on, if
so click 'never dial a connection.'
your computer to change your connection options to auto
dial.

Hope this helps
