We just installed 33 computers and 16 printers at Unity
Christian School. When we setup the Lexmark printers and
shared it for the computer right next to it..... It seems
that Windows XP explores the network and sets up all
available printers that it sees.... The end result is
that setting up these printers automatically changes the
default printer settings and causes people to print all
over the building. I want XP not to find these printers
on the network and stop changing our printer settings.
I heard XP was a nightmare to have on a network, and I am
seeing it first hand. Any suggestions besides delete the
OS and reinstall a civil OS like 2000? or perhaps Windows
3.1?
