I recently had XP professionally reinstalled on my
computer. Previously to shut down I clicked on Start,
Turn Off Computer, and then Turn Off, and that was all I
needed to do. XP automatically closed my computer down
from that point.
After my recent reinstall however, when I do the same
steps, a Windows screen says, "It is now safe to turn off
your computer", and I have to hold in the power button
for 6 seconds or so to close it down. Everyone I know
seems mystified by this. I prefer having the auto shut
down. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?
