XP asks for username and password

when trying to access other pc's on my network it ask's for a username and password
I have not set either on any of my networked pc's
have set the folder to be shared and I can see all computers from my network places ?

I finally got my network up by simply setting up a username and password for each
But after reading the info you supplied. I see there is no need to log in any more if I change my settings.

Glad it works now. Yes, there are ways to do without password,
if properly set up and if you don't need any internal security.
