After crashing and rebooting I try to reload programs Office 2000 or Word 2000 half the way thru it asks for XP Professional Service pack 1 CD which I have never had. My version is the home edition XP not pro.

Did you try substituting the Home CD just to see what would happen?

Are you sure it's asking for "XP Professional Service pack 1 CD" and not
"Office Professional Service pack 1 CD"?
It sounds like Office might be trying to do a self-repair, so try putting
your Office CD in the drive and see what happens.

Hi

Have you got the Network file for installing XP - it's about 125 Mbs - and WinZip or WinRar? If so, right click on the XP file and select 'Extract to folder...'. Then try pointing to the folder you have just extracted the files to.
