I purchased a laptop just as SP2 was released and installed it as soon as
the machine fored up , actually auto update did .

I immediately began having "issues" with the machine and began to use the
on line support that the manufacturer provided .
after a few checks of the system they transfered me to MS support .

the Microsoft Windows Support Professional steered me thru several steps to
help him identify the culprit and after a few weeks said I needed a XP
install disc with SP2 and they would send it shortly .

Well that was back in Sept of 2004 and have yet to hear back recive disc
or even have anyone from MS reply to my numerous emails asking the
status of the issue

has anyone any info on the where abouts of Andrew Yao , Microsoft Windows
Support Professional

or Steven Song Microsoft Management ??

6 months has been plenty of time I think .

You'll have to contact the manufacturer of your computer
and request a Windows XP CD with SP2. Microsoft does
not offer any support for preinstalled OEM versions of
Windows XP.

Yes Carey did not catch that part , MS ( I spent 2 weeks with the Mfg
support ) said the disc will be sent . I can post the messages in whole
if you care to read but I think I am being ignored or MS is in the excuse
stage or pass the buck stage . (2 months MS support by email )
now nothing , laptop still has major issues , I use system restore once
a week .

definitely a joke IMO

Microsoft offers the SP2 disk free. I ordered mine on-line. Although the
site said it would take 4 to 6 weeks to receive the free disk, I received
mine within the week.

Here is the text , nothing has been done since this , 9/16/2004

I sent the info 2 times

Based on my research, the network adapter is not recognized correctly in the
system information. I believe this issue is caused by conflicts between
changed system controllers and the network adapter.

To resolve this issue, I suggest you remove Service Pack 2.
