Just got a new laptop and would like to swap harddrive
from old laptop to new --drive is a compatible model, so
this should not be an issue--

With old hdd installed in laptop, system boots and dual
boot menu appears, select xp (Safe Mode) shows all
drivers load. When screen blanks [as is normal just
before XP load] system blue screens [too quick to read]
and reboots.

Anyone know of a way to swap hdd with XP as the main os
into another machine and get it to boot?
(Don't want to have to reinstall all my junk and the os --
just too lazy!)

Thanks!

Unless the machines have close to identical chipsets, you can't do this. The only way you'll get XP to boot after the hard drive
move is to do a repair install.
By the way, the blue screen your getting says "inaccessible boot device"

Do a repair install as drivers from old system will fail on new
system. A repair will redetect all drivers again.
