I have a lab of xp machines that login to a 2003 server.
I want to erase that last user name so the next student
can log in. How do I do that?
If I have them logoff at the end of the class, the next
student will type in their user name and password and
they get the message that they cannot find the domain.
The domain name shows on the screen and we can't change
it. If we restart the machines they login the first
time. I am using active directory and policies on the
server. Is there a change that I can make to take care
of this?

I have found the very same problem on my network, xp pro
to NT4 domain, however after a bit of research I have
found on the MS website that a hotfix is due in SP2 but
not before. It addresses the issue of XP pro not
releasing its cached logon information, restarting the
computer apparently makes the client request new info
from the server. I narrowed mine down to an Eventid
3051, hope this helps with a search as I forget the
knowledge base one the MS site.

Anyone else any solutions as restarting the computer each
time is not an elegant or practical solution.

In fact anyone from MS reading this how about releasing
the hotfix early.
