No, IIS is not automatically installed in Windows XP Professional. You'll
need to install it manually from the Add/Remove Programs / Add/Remove
Windows Components program.

IIS is not available in Windows XP Home Edition.

IIS is not installed by default on Win XP Pro.

IIS comes only with WinXP Pro, not WinXP Home.

Does Windows XP automatically install IIS? Does XP come
with IIS?

Thanks

Yeh! Windows XP Home Edition users wouldn't like to have
a simple webserver like IIs. Home users have no need for
it. Unless you are a "professional" and use Windows XP
Professional. According to Microsoft that is!. I have
SuSE 8.2 Pro which cost me under $100.00 and I have the
Apache webserver built right in!. Spent more for Windows
XP Home edition and got ripped off, no web server of any
kind!.
