Hi i want to put a second hardrive in my computer but i'm
not sure how to set up xp or anything to do it!!
If u can help me it would be great
thanks

Hi,

It's pretty straight forward actually. Follow the drive makers instructions
on physically installing it. Check that the power and data cable are
securely seated, and that the jumper is in the correct position for it's
location on the cable and system.

Make sure the system BIOS is set to autodetect the drive on startup. Boot
WinXP, start/run diskmgmt.msc, right-click the new drive and begin to create
your partition(s) and/or volume(s). Note that a partition larger than 32GB
must be done in NTFS. You can format them from Windows Explorer before you
begin to use them.

Add: the partition creation in Disk Management will follow through to
format. I find it best to look lower right in the window for the
graphic of the drive, where you can r-click on the unallocated space, on
Free space in any Extended partition that has been made, and take
'create partition'
